Musical of Musicals

Once again it is Friday, which means new art day here in Red J land!

I was originally gonna post up the piece I had in mind for the latest colour jam, BUT I had to drive back from Sydney today (thats about a 3 hour drive) and then get to work...so to make a long story short, I'm gonna save it for next week.

So, let me blab on a little about this piece here for a sec.

This one I did for a buddy from work. Some of you may know that for the last 3 years or so I have worked at a theatre. The cool thing about that place is that the majority of my work mates have some sort of creative side to them, weather that be in music, dancing, photography, acting or in my case as a lowly comic book artist.

Anyway, a group of them put on shows during the year, and they asked me if I would like to do some poster art for them. It was a fun challenge, and what you see here was my contribution to the final artwork (not shown).

I'm not a big fan of doing titles or logos, cause I pretty much suck at all things graphic design, but I think it fits alright with the overall piece here. I dunno. Laugh at me if you must!

In case you can't tell, the show is going to be a musical. And I bought "The Sound of Music" on DVD today... Did I just officially loose my license to be a man? haha. I also bought 'Knocked Up' for the FYI of people who are too cool for a little Von Trapp action. It was in the cheap bin.
